Hanoi: PetroVietnam is holding discussions with ExxonMobil over the development of one of the largest gas fields yet found off Vietnam. The Blue Whale gas field project is worth up to $10bn. It is located between Quang Ngai and Quang Nam provinces in central Vietnam. The gas will fuel a power plant ashore.

Meanwhile, PetroVietnam is in talks to sell a 49% stake in Dung Quat Refinery, located in Quang Ngai, to a Russian company.  [10/10/14]
