Semco Maritime Singapore scores new business in Korea and China

Singapore: Following the acquisition of fire & safety contractor Inmaco, Singapore-based Semco Maritime is now entering into the markets for telecom, firefighting and safety solutions for rigs.

In South Korea, Semco Maritime was recently awarded a contract for high-standard telecom systems for a Maersk operated harsh environment jack-up rig. The rig is to be built at the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Shipyard (DSME) in South Korea. The installation includes SemSound PA/GA, telephony, LAN, TETRA & IP-tv systems as well as all firefighting systems.

Subsequently, Hyundai Heavy Industries placed an order for a complete high pressure water mist system to be installed at a new semi-submersible rig operated by Diamond Offshore.

The two South Korean shipyard orders follow a period of increasingly busy activity in China as well. Here, Semco Maritime recently secured a total of eight orders for fire protection systems and five orders for state-of-the-art designed Internal Communication System Solutions to be deployed at Compact Semi-Submersible (CSS) accommodation ship and similar rigs and vessels on various offshore shipyards in China.

Semco Maritime Pte Ltd Singapore is a subsidiary of Danish Semco Maritime.  [10/09/14]
