Singapore poll launches

Singapore poll launches
Singapore: As SeaShip News readies its annual Singapore magazine today we launch a poll to identify some of the challenges the Lion City faces in its maritime sector. The poll takes two minutes to fill in and requires no registration – below each question there is also room for respondents to leave comments, which are gratefully appreciated.

1. Is Singapore the world’s leading maritime centre?
2. Are current restrictions on foreign talent and workers affecting your business?
3. How effective has the government's policy of getting more Singaporeans to work in the maritime sector been to date?
4. Is the talent pool among local workers both large enough and of high enough quality for the city’s fast growing maritime sector?
5. Does Singapore’s high cost of living – recently crowned the most expensive place to live by The Economist – mean much shipping operations will relocate elsewhere?
6. Is the strength of the Singapore dollar a problem for shipping companies in the Lion City?
7. Do you think the authorities have done enough in terms of improving navigational safety in light of the recent spate of accidents in Singapore waters?
8. Could Singapore be doing more to help crack down on maritime piracy in the region?

Results of the poll will be carried in the second annual Singapore magazine produced by SeaShip News. The magazine will carry a broad look at the various shipping and offshore sectors.
